In 2017, luxury bags popularized faux leather in styles of handbags, clutches, and (even) backpacks. It was the year where fashionistas eyed minimalist designs more than intricate patterns. Take it from our IT girl Anne Curtis and ‘Chinita Princess’ Kim Chui, who glammed up show business with their dolled-up outfits and designer bags.

Designer bags aren’t just an accessory. They’re a form of self-expression, a personal statement, and a status symbol, which is why they’re called luxury bags in the first place.

Handbags were the ultimate fashion accessory of 2017. Celebrities loved to express themselves through glamorous clothes matched with signature handbags. As the fruits of their labor, celebrities loved to showcase their bags as economic and social status symbols.

1. Louis Vuitton

For instance, the ‘Queen of All Media’ Kris Aquino, ‘Chinita Princess’ Kim Chui, and IT girl Anne Curtis are all fond of LV bags. This designer bag is meant to be carried by a successful career woman, and they perfected the art of making the bag look extra-classy when paired with the right outfits.

2. Hermes

Another arm candy for the successful woman is a Hermes bag. It perfectly matches every wonder mom in the industry. Take it from the lovely wives of this generation—Marian Rivera, Jinkee Pacquiao and Dra. Vicky Belo. They love carrying Hermes bags, so they still look fab even with their busy schedules. May it be taking care of their children, attending meetings, or socializing with significant people.

3. Longchamp

In 2017, Longchamp Le Pliage seemed to be in demand not just for celebrities but also to Titas of Manila. Among the many designer bags, Longchamp is the most convenient bag that you can buy at an affordable price.

The country’s ‘first Hispanoamericana’ Winwyn Marquez loves this brand’s pieces, because they’re fold way bags that can be expanded (thanks to their nylon material). Also, they come in dozen of colors and a multitude of shapes to choose from, so you’re sure to find something that fits all your needs. Oh, and not to mention: this designer bag is also water-resistant!

When it comes to traveling, Maine Mendoza, Nadine Lustre, and Bea Alonzo have one thing in common—they’re the wanderers of this generation, and they usually bring their ultimate travel-buddy with them: backpacks.

Knapsacks are enough luggage for anyone to use when exploring the beauty of the city, or any tourist destination. May it be statement or not, we understand why they love backpacks. They’re chic, practical, and useful. Ask any traveler about it, and they’ll tell you knapsacks are their staple accessory when exploring marvelous places.

Indeed, 2017 is the year of bag-eyed celebrities. It’s when faux leather in form of handbags and backpacks are the biggest trend of the season. It’s the same year we learned some fashion advice from our favorite celebrities: Hermes, LV, and Longchamp are career women’s arm candies, while backpacks are wanderers ultimate travel accessory.
